Training for Teachers and FacilitatorsYou've tried running games before but can imagine doing it better next time. You have maybe bought the book and learned some of the lessons there. You still want more training though, to fully understand the mechanics of how games work, either for yourself or your team.
Whether you are a teacher, youth worker, trainer or facilitator, regardless of your preferred learning style, there is lots of value in actually experiencing the lessons from Making Games Work. |
Experiences for GroupsIf the children or adults you work with could benefit from working together better as a team, then you could do one of two things:
1. Learn the lessons Nick details in Making Games Work and put them into practise quickly 2. Get us in to run a session for you and learn similar lessons by watching our practitioners at work. Either way you and your staff will gain more experience in running games, whilst your group will benefit from the inherent learning in the games. |
We can come to any location of your choosing where there is space to play games. We will lead you through a few games suitable to that space (and to the weather if necessary). After that we can spend time helping you to unpack the learning from them, looking particularly at how you could adapt them for other people, how to cope if it goes 'wrong' and how to help others gain the learning.
Depending on your budget (time and/or money) we can spend anything from a couple of hours to a couple of days with you. |
We can run single sessions with a series of different groups or, with older groups capable of more intense learning, run a sequence of team building workshops with one group. These sessions will be tailored to your particular setting; the location and environment, the age and stage of the group and obviously the specific learning outcomes you are aiming to focus on.
|
Whilst we will adapt and run games to fit the size of group you have, we have found that the best learning happens when there are between 6 and 12 participants at a time. There are enough people in team for a good range of interactions but there are few enough people that our trainer can focus on each of the individuals.
We are based in the west of Scotland but travel widely across the country. We are also open to the idea of doing more work in the rest of the UK and further afield. Contact us to discuss your particular needs
